Naomi Price is an Anmetyerre woman from Boundary Bore, around 300km North East of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory. She is the daughter of world renowned artist, Anna Price Petyarre adopting a similar style to her mother when telling these important Dreamings.

Naomi paints the Bush Yam Dreaming, paying homage to the bush yam which has been an abundant food and water source for her people for many generations. The bush yam is found in the area of the artist’s birthplace. An important part of the woman’s role in traditional Aboriginal culture is to collect bush foods. The yams are collected by digging deep into the soil using sharp digging utensils, either made from carved wood or more commonly today, a metal crow bar. The yams are exposed amongst the root system of the yam bush.
